從「Arda」的形成，一直到「Two Lamps of the Valar」被「Melkor」摧毀。在這段時期，「Valar」住在「Middle-earth」，並且建立了兩盞大燈永久照亮大地，「Middle-earth」也開始有了生物與植物，因此這段時期叫做「Spring of Arda」--「Arda」的春天。
